We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our New York team. The selected candidate will begin as a core member of our design team on a freelance and trial basis with the expectation to grow into a full-time position and eventual executive leadership role.

As a Senior Designer, you will play a key role in defining and shaping the design output of the studio. In addition to demanding the highest quality in your own design work, you will lead and inspire your team members, and will push the envelope to stay on the leading edge in the industry.

We are looking for someone who shares our vision with a demonstrated interest in the healthcare field.


  • Design and help produce many different types of internal and client projects, ranging from data visualization to web design
  • Execute and help oversee the design of all project deliverables, from brainstorming and initial concepts through final product delivery
  • Translate vague and abstract concepts into clear and concise design solutions
  • Collaborate with team members including project managers, designers and developers to ensure the successful completion of each project
  • Manage multiple project deadlines and address client feedback in a timely matter
  • Research and evolve studio design best practices, especially project workflow and user experience design


  • Demonstrated commitment to and passion for global and public health issues
  • 3-5 years experience at a creative agency or design studio
  • Design degree and/or relevant design experience, preferably health-related
  • A portfolio of visually cohesive and relevant design work, across various channels including digital and print
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and reasoning skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from health data or information
  • Expertise in industry standards and design principles, including typography, layout and color theory
  • Ability to make intelligent connections between client work and current global and public health issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and articulate when presenting work to colleagues and clients
  • Ability to lead small design teams and offer constructive feedback and guidance
  • Highly collaborative with a proven track record of working well in teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Mastery of industry-standard tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) and Sketch or Figma
  • Familiarity with Basecamp or a similar project management platform

  • Work From Anywhere: Although we are based in New York City, we don’t have an office or central headquarters. You’ll have the opportunity to work when and where you want, from the comfort of your own home or alongside your team members at our coworking location.
  • Trial Basis: Once you successfully complete the interview process, we’ll give you the opportunity to make sure the job is right for you. During the trial period, you’ll become a core member of our design team and will work on a specific project for six to eight weeks on a freelance basis.
  • Leadership Opportunities: We are a small and growing company with an entrepreneurial mindset and startup culture. While you’ll start as a member of our design team on a freelance basis, our expectation is that you will grow into an executive leadership role and full-time position.
